What is ClickAway?

ClickAway is a form of Click-less software – assistive technology which generates clicks automatically when you stop moving the mouse.

ClickAway can generate left, double, right and triple clicks (which will select a paragraph), and drag. The default is left click.

Although ClickAway will do the clicks for you, the mouse pointer needs to be positioned by hand.

System requirements

An internet connection is required to use ClickAway.

Operating system

Windows 11
ClickAway supports Windows 11 & 10 operating systems.

Note for Windows 10 users:
As well as providing the serial number after installation, Windows 10 users will be prompted to provide the Item Number, which is 888.

Mac Operating Systems
ClickAway will not work on MAC OS

Does ClickAway require a special mouse?

ClickAway will work with any kind of mouse. However, if using a laptop we recommend an external mouse, to ensure that mouse movements can be completed in one go (sometimes difficult on a laptop touchpad). Using a mouse pad can also help to ensure that mouse movements are smooth.

Who is it for?

ClickAway will be useful to anyone needing to reduce mouse clicks, including those with Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) / Occupational Overuse Syndrome, disability, and health conditions such as Arthritis. ClickAway can help to manage and prevent RSI for employees whose tasks are very computer intensive.

ClickAway will be most suitable for those who need to reduce clicking, but are able to move the pointer by hand.

Change the click type using gestures

Mouse clicks are generated automatically when you stop moving the pointer. The pause time, and the distance the mouse pointer needs to be moved in order to generate a click, can be adjusted in Settings.

Care needs to be taken when moving the mouse, to avoid accidental clicks.

ClickAway will be most useful when performing tasks that require a lot of clicking, and when the consequences of the occasional accidental click are not serious.

The consequences of accidental clicking tend to be minimal in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, and more inconvenient/serious in webpages where clicking on a link would take you away from the page.

There might be tasks for which ClickAway is not suitable, for example when the consequences of accidental clicks are inconvenient or serious, or when the task requires a lot of dragging.

ClickAway can be turned on & off easily on the Toolbar. Alternatively, a hotkey (keyboard shortcut) can be assigned in Settings to turn ClickAway on & off, for those occasions when the consequences of accidental clicks are too high.

The cost of a single license (for use by one person on up to 4 computers) is A$55 per year.
